Tiler Rouse Hill

At Leerberg Tiling we specialise in the areas of bathroom tiling, floor and wall tiling, kitchen splashbacks, new build tiling, tile repairs and licensed waterproofing across Rouse Hill, Box Hill, Kellyville and the surrounding Hills District growth corridor. We are a family owned business with over 53 years in the tiling trade, fully licensed and insured, and we do all the work ourselves rather than sending subcontractors. The same team handles your job from the first measure through to the final grout line.

We tile right across the Hills. See our page on tiling across the Hills District for nearby suburbs, or visit the Leerberg Tiling home page for everything we do.

Tiling in Rouse Hill, Box Hill and Kellyville: The Local Issues

  • This is the new-build heartland of Sydney.
  • Rouse Hill, Box Hill, North Kellyville and the estates around them have gone up fast over the last decade and are still going, with brand new homes, knock-down-rebuilds and house-and-land packages filling estate after estate.
  • That makes the tiling work here different to the rest of Sydney: a lot of it is first tiling in a brand new home, working to a fresh engineered slab, coordinating with builders and trades on a build timeline.
  • Underneath those new slabs is the reactive Cumberland Plain clay common across the Hills, frequently rated Class H1 or H2, which is exactly why these homes are built on engineered footings.
  • A generic page that just swaps a suburb name in cannot speak to new-build tiling at this scale.
  • We tile new homes and rebuilds across the growth corridor, fitting in with the build program, and we prepare even a fresh slab properly so the finished floors and wet areas last.

New Build and Knock-Down-Rebuild Tiling

  • Most of our work in these estates is tiling new homes.
  • On a fresh slab we still check levels and prepare the substrate, use crack isolation where the engineered slab and reactive clay call for it, and set out large-format floor tiles so they sit flat across the big open living areas these homes are designed around.
  • We coordinate with the builder and other trades so the tiling lands at the right point in the build, and we tile to the standard a new home should start with rather than rushing to hit a handover date.

Bathroom Tiling and Waterproofing

  • New-home bathrooms and ensuites are fully tiled wet areas where the waterproofing has to be right from the start, because a failure in a new build is both costly and avoidable.
  • We build the falls so water runs to the waste and lay a continuous membrane to AS 3740 across the floor, up the shower walls and over hobs before any tile goes on.
  • In a two-storey home, which most of these are, an upper wet area leak tracks straight down, so the membrane is the part we never rush.

Floor, Kitchen and Repair Work

  • Across these homes we lay large-format floor tiling through open-plan living, wall tiling, and kitchen splashbacks cut neatly around fixtures and cabinetry, coordinating splashback and floor timing with the cabinetmaker.
  • We also handle repairs and regrouting in slightly older estate homes, where cracked or drummy tiles and failing grout can be sorted without redoing a whole room, and we match replacement tiles as closely as the originals allow.

Recent Rouse Hill, Box Hill and Kellyville Projects

  • Recent work in the corridor includes tiling the floors, bathrooms and splashbacks through a new two-storey home in a Box Hill estate, laying large-format floors across open-plan living in a Rouse Hill build, and re-waterproofing a shower in a slightly older North Kellyville home.
  • All work is completed by our own licensed tradesmen, not subcontractors.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you tile new builds and knock-down-rebuilds? Yes, it is most of our work across Rouse Hill, Box Hill and Kellyville. We tile to fresh engineered slabs and coordinate with the builder and other trades on the build timeline.

Do you prepare a brand new slab before tiling? Yes. Even a fresh slab gets levels checked and the substrate prepared, with crack isolation where the engineered slab and reactive clay call for it, so the floors and wet areas last.

Do you do large-format floors for open-plan living? Yes, and set-out and flatness matter across big open floors, so we prepare the substrate and set out so the tiles sit flat.

Do you remove the old tiles? Yes, in renovations and rebuilds, demolition and removal of old tiles is part of the job.
