Frequently Asked Questions
Do you lay natural stone and large-format tiles? Yes, and we seal stone correctly for where it is going, including against salt on near-water homes. A lot of peninsula tiling is high-end stone that needs laying and sealing properly to last.
Why are homes here so often steep or split-level? The Pittwater peninsula is built on steep sandstone blocks running down toward the water, so homes step across multiple levels. We set out and re-screed across those changes so tiles sit flat.
Do you tile elevated decks and terraces over rooms? Yes. These need an external membrane to AS 4654, correct falls and drainage, and salt-resistant materials, which we install so water runs away rather than into the room below.
Can you fix a leaking shower or deck without removing all the tiles? Sometimes. If the membrane is sound and the issue is failed grout or silicone, we can re-grout and reseal. If the waterproofing has failed, the tiles need to come up to redo it properly.
